Is it just me, or is SOTC trippy as hell? I can't decide yet if I love it or hate it -- always a good sign....

One disadvantage to having 4 kids under 7 is that one's quirky obsessions soon become lost under loads of diapers, sugary cerals, and thrice-weekly little league baseball games. In other words, lately I've let things slide (thanks, NL). So.... I'm a bit behind on the new (late '09 - early '10) songs...

Nice interview. He seems excited about the new songs, which is great -- but will we really have to wait until September for the new LP? What the hell am I supposed to do with myself until then? Take up gardening or something? Arrgghh!

Since he's married DK he's become much more of a "celebrity", hasn't he? Much more out there -- not to mention more in than ever. But I digress. I think he got him a Trainer (note the capital "T") on each coast (NY and VanBC) and went all Buns Of Steel on us for a few months and....

I agree that the extended studio time suggests that he's probably working on a couple of different projects -- after all, SP&S was recorded in something like 3 days, wasn't it? So I doubt he'd get all MLAR on us again and overthink things in the studio at this stage. Can't wait to hear the resul...

I don't think any NL-produced EC records sound particularly good -- but they sound very appropriate. At least up until TRUST, which has always sounded a tad hackneyed to my ears....

Nice! Maybe just a tad better than "We are the World", eh?

I was, um, underwhelmed by this episode. As an interviewer, MLP is one hell of an actor. Too much emphasis was given to EC's collaboators, the net result of which was watching EC play Hide and Seek all freaking night, like some sort of bespectacled trout that MLP lacked the equipment to properly lan...

That NGOOTB guy has everything.....

BTW, Levon Helm seems like a really nice guy, doesn't he? Looks to me like EC's a real friend of his....

I agree that Sheryl Crow was in over her head. I taped last night's episode and skipped over her tunes. Jesse Winchester was a revelation, however -- what a voice! GREAT episode....

Now that enough time has passed, I can say with some confidence that SP&S belongs in the top half-dozen or so EC albums. I think it's brilliant....
