Re: New album Hey Clockface will be released October 30, 2020

You my have better eyesight that me Favehour, but I couldn't see a 'buy the single separately' option - only available in the mega-moolah bundles, or the 300-sold-out-tie-up-with-the-LP. Perhaps I'll buy those underpants instead..... It was originally possible to buy the single on its own, but now ...

Re: New album Hey Clockface will be released October 30, 2020

Order confirmations from the official site suggest there will be another song on September 11. It's a Friday, so that fits. It's one aspect of the modern world that slightly saddens me - the idea that a 'single', now, simply means a track from the LP that becomes electronically available a few week...

I've never seen a recording of this show, which seems impossible given the venue. Let me know if you come across one!

Re: My Aim Is True Survivor (Round 8)

Yes, depends on when. I heard MAIT first and could tell that something or other was going on, something worth keeping an eye on, and you can just imagine what that made TYM sound like when it arrived. Yikes! Exactly. Liked it when I got it in November 77, but not sure....saw the Saturday Night Live...

Re: Elvis and The Attractions, Montreux 1986 on TV

ecis1986.JPG ECIS from June 1986 proposes that three songs were played: Uncomplicated, Tokyo Storm Warning, and I Hope You're Happy Now. I can't imagine they went to Montreux just to lip-sync to three tracks, after all previous and later appearances at the Jazz Festival; all featured full sets ( 19...

As I recall, they only did 3 songs...this one, Tokyo Storm Warning, and maybe I Hope You're Happy? And I think it's Elvis singing live over the album track.

Re: For The Stars

It's not often I disagree with My Legendary Apostle friend but it would have taken a lot to persuade me to go and see EC and ASVO on the same bill - she always came across to me as too classical in her stylings and unable to shake that off to accommodate less than formal classical compositions - un...

Re: Look Now nominated for Grammy!

Is there no footage of him actually winning? Was he on the broadcast? no they only broadcast a few awards, this was a pre-broadcast award. Looked for footage of the acceptance speech, but haven't seen any yet. They have added the red carpet interview to Youtube, though: https://www.youtube.com/watc...

This is a cool idea, I tried listening to it but the reverb employed every time the lyrics are quoted drove me nuts.

Is the June 1991 MSG NYC show the only time The Other Side of Summer was played as a waltz? I can't find any recording of that show and would be interested to hear this version. The waltz version was introduced at the beginning of the MLAR tour on the West Coast, and was in fact played on MTV Unplu...

Re: Elvis writes about Linda Ronstadt

Very glad to see this graceful essay from Elvis. Ronstadt had undeniable vocal chops. My mother liked the Nelson Riddle collaborations but fell in love with Canciones de Mi Padre. One of my fondest memories is taking her to see Linda’s live version of those songs, with costumes and set designs like ...

What a gas to hear Crawling to the USA!

Also happy to hear No Hiding Place, Charm School.

Elvis was in much better vocal form tonight, probably the best I’ve heard him sing since 2016.

Sound was pretty good too, still thunderous bass but pretty well balanced.

A very enjoyable evening
