Re: New album for 2023 announced!

Sounds to me as if Elvis is probably referring to the Dopamine project. Any Imposters or solo album is unlikely to be regarded as "very different", and this has been referenced as upcoming for at least 2 years now.

Re: Kojak Variety

Definitely. I always loved Green Song in particular, but also No Winder, Don’t Talk, Broken Bicycles and You Still Believe in Me are real good tracks. As a matter of fact, I love late 90’s- early 2000’s Elvis albums. Painted From Memory, For the Stars, When I Was Cruel, and North are all somewhat un...

Re: Kojak Variety

That’s cool. Everyone has their own personal favorites. I love The Juliet Letters, which is one of my top 5 Elvis albums, and I’m sure I’m in the minority on that. Kojak Variety is probably at the very bottom of my list, but I love the ballads on that record a great deal, and I think the 2 disc Rhin...

StubHub price for GA has come down to 90 bucks. Elvis and Nick are my two favorite artists of all time, but ticket price, gas, tolls, parking, etc, it’s easily more like $175. These days, sadly, just can’t afford that $$$. Living in NJ nowadays there’s also so few live venues for national acts to pl...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters, Canal Shores Golf Course, Evanston, IL, August 5th, 2022

Oh cmon now. Elvis has been touting Nick as the greatest living British songwriter for many years, going back to Spectacle. He just recorded 2 Nick songs from the Brinsley days for the Rusty ep. I find it hard to believe that anyone attending an Elvis concert doesn’t know Peace, Love and Understandi...

Re: Poll: What's your favorite track on "The Resurrection of Rust"?

Great idea!! Everybody Knows This is Nowhere/Dance Dance Dance followed closely by I’m Ahead if I Can Quit While I’m Behind. Love the feel and looseness of the record, and only song I skip at this early stage is Maureen and Sam, but I think it’s inclusion is an interesting example of how the song “m...

Re: The Boy Named If, new album by Elvis & The Imposters, January 14, 2022

After taking an extended break from TBNI, returning to it is amazingly rewarding. It’s a REALLY REALLY good record. No doubt about it. Putting it on the same level as Get Happy!! is a bit crazy, since I believe that is the greatest record EVER made!, but hey, I don’t particularly care for Sgt. Peppe...

Re: Elvis Costello, Kris Kristofferson, Roseanne Cash: April 5th

Didn’t Elvis say a few years back that he considered this was one of his best songs? That in and of itself says quite a lot. At the time I thought this could have been the song to bring Elvis some mainstream recognition but I was way off on that one. One of his best vocals, so touching and emotional...

Ok, so after a brief break from the record of a week to ten days, and a full month now after release, I returned to listen with a set of fresh ears. The verdict? A great record, and an absolute keeper. Could have been the follow up to Trust in sound and feel if Imperial Bedroom didn’t exist with at ...

Two weeks in and now totally convinced that this is a GREAT record, as in Top 5 Elvis album ever. Get Happy!! and This Years Model have long been my 1 & 2, with Blood and Chocolate, King of America and The Juliet Letters trading places as 3-4-5… but this is so ridiculously good that may all chan...

Could be the greatest closing track in the history of EC records, topping even Couldn’t Call it Unexpected and The Birds Will Still be Singing.

Well, as I also believe that Get Happy!! IS the greatest record ever made, I understand and respect your opinion. You always express your thoughts so articulately, and your passion for the record is fantastic. My favorite records are always the ones that I need to live with for awhile, so who knows?...

Much too soon to know whether TBNI is an all time EC record. However, it IS a damn good record, with at least 6 tracks I would add to an updated EC playlist.I would certainly not hesitate to say that it feels like it has long term staying power, as it continues to impress and amaze with each listen....

Current faves 4 days in…Mr.Crescent, My Most Beautiful Mistake, The Death of Magic Thinking, The Difference, The Man You Love to Hate. Only two that haven’t kicked in for me yet are Penelope Halfpenny and Mistook me for a Friend. Of course, subject to change.

Could not agree more. I reached the point about a week or so after it was released where I could not stop listening. One of Elvis’ most beautiful latter day ballads, up there with Suspect My Tears and Isabelle in Tears.

Re: Bruce Thomas interview on Caropop.com

Oh I don’t disagree that Bruce’s playing is superior. He is absolutely one of the most original bass players I’ve ever heard. His work on Get Happy!! alone is truly sublime, as it was pretty much throughout all of the records. I just don’t see the point of the story he shared about Pete being almost...

Re: Bruce Thomas interview on Caropop.com

Listened to the Bruce interview, and as usual, he’s more than just a tad dismissive (of Davey’s bass playing and Blood and Chocolate, of course)….and a bit smug. However, nice to hear that he and Elvis have possibly begun to patch things up, and for a change, was, at times, occasionally complimentar...

Re: Mighty Like A Rose at 30

One of Elvis’ most underrated LP’s…yes, of course. Along with Almost Blue, Blood and Chocolate, The Juliet Letters, Brutal Youth, When I Was Cruel, Look Now (I know, I know…Grammy award winning record, but outside of THAT, so under appreciated) and so on and so on. I know I’m preaching to the choir ...
