Got my copy last night at Best Buy ($27.99, even though it's not listed on their Web site). Haven't had a chance to listen to it, but I pored over the packaging. The booklet has lyrics to every song, including the alternate takes. However, there are no liner notes, no essay -- just the track list, l...

How would Elvis have physically done this though? I'm hoping he's full of crap. If his rabid fan base (translated: all of us on this board) had bought the 10 Years set and discovered the hidden CD-Rs, it would have given him another excuse to air his contempt for us diehards. I've spent most of the...

Re: 10 cds of new Costello recordings hidden in U.S. stores!
"I recorded some new melodies for some of my older songs, and for a gag I recorded them on just a cassette player... I put them on a CDR, and I put 10 of the CDRs in 10 copies of the best of record that we released in April, and hid 'em in the shops in America, just to see whether anybody boug...

We'd already heard the Archives were being pushed back (again) but now we know one reason why:

Other NY sites are reporting that one of the tracks is "Ordinary People", which dates from the Bluenotes years.

Do you mean that the wiki version (for instance this page) doesn't provide the information you seek?

My wife and I went to London for our honeymoon (8+ years ago) and we'd love to go back. Not much advice for you except this: -- Take the tube whenever you can. If you think it's close enough to walk, it isn't. -- Madame Tussaud's may be cheesy, but it's a lot of fun. However, don't believe the hype ...

Well sir, I went through the archives (back to the first entry) and it's clear you've been through a lot. You've moved most of the way across the country, and you've been on the rollercoaster of romance, to say the least. I'm assuming you're staying on top of your bills and trying to get through eac...

Well, they built the pedestal. And if that's what the market will bear, then that's how it goes. But their sales do increase when the CDs are discounted by EMI, which happens a couple of times a year.Otis Westinghouse wrote:The Beatles get their own pedestal and should cost more as a result? Give me a break!

I'll reappraise it at some point, but the other thing that pisses me off about it and The Beatles is that their CDs are always over-priced in the shops. They have endless low price offers on Dylan and the rest of them, and yet the Beatles are supposedly eternally top dollar. The main reason is beca...
