Buffalo was cancelled, like Phoenix.
But Atlantic City and Chicago were added, creating new 3 night runs.
Go figure.

Re: 'He's Given Me Things'
It occured to me listening again tonight while walking my basset hound that her spurned lover might not be just a starving artist, but an artist who is painting either her portrait or a portrait of her and her new beau. Hence the command to 'cover the canvass...and never come back.' If this is righ...

Re: 'He's Given Me Things'
Insightful in an engaged manner equal to the lyric and melody you nimbly pin to the page. I expected no less. EC should have legions of such listeners. Ha! Why, thank you, Jack. High praise indeed from one of the most insightful and engaged EC listeners around! FAVEHOUR, you may well be righ...

Re: 'He's Given Me Things'
Agree that it will be a damn shame if the new tunes written for the PFM musical don’t all surface. The three featured on the new album are excellent. I think the person to whom He’s Given Me Things is sung is a portrait painter. I think the musical was going to be about the artist who painted the po...

BBC Headliners Podcast
iTunes has a new podcast today with a 32 minute BBC interview with Elvis. BBC Headliners, Radio 5. A bit more in depth than what we've heard recently, nice job.

That's a Harry Nilsson song, it was aired.bronxapostle wrote:Oddly enough, and i imagine entirely unrelated, i once saw Steve play a song titled exactly the same. A 2009 Spectacle taping, with Neko Case...i believe it was unaired and strictly a duet by the two. A good tune it was....i can check.

Having now heard a tape of this show, I can confirm my guess was correct. He's doing a bit of Mr. Big Stuff (Jean Knight, 1971, Stax Records)FAVEHOUR wrote:Everyday I write the book / ?? snippet with the words "Who do you think you are"

That's what he said. The TV's still on, but it's just showing "snow"...and it's not Christmas. And the boy.....he's gone.stricttime81 wrote:Didn't EC mention at some of the IB shows that "Long Honeymoon" is a sort of sequel to Watching the Detectives? Maybe I'm mis-remembering.

Re: Look Now: new album announced!
I see Sebastian Krys was the producer on the Vega album (Non ho l'eta) last year that EC appeared on. Perhaps that's how they came to work together on the new record. Dave Sebastian Krys also produced multiple albums for La Santa Cecilia, including Treinta Dias where EC guested on a track . I'm pre...

Does anyone else remember this painting being one of the backdrops during last year's Imperial Bedroom and Other Chambers tour? It looks real familiar.....

Well I guess the soundtrack version wasn't so tame after all. Guess I should've gone back and listened. Still, the new version seems to be the tamest of the three.

Re: Look Now: new album announced!
Listening to the Unwanted Number clip, it sounds like the lyrics have been revised from the way he did it live way back when. Seems like he took out the most powerful part about possible abuse by the narrator's father/stepfather/some adult male...surprising. It's interesting to release Unwanted Num...
