Or:

Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year" (2020 UK tour)

For the record, I think the seemingly constant need from many quarters to politicise the current crisis is unnecessary. Agreed. When Wayne Rooney has to make an anti- government point about it, it’s clearly gone too far. I’m no Tory but I thought the response in the press conference on Thursday was...

Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff , March 16, 2020

I’m sure it’s coming here too. Just hope to get my last 2 Elvis gigs in first! Loads of tickets for London coming up on Twickets. People are already making the decision for themselves. Oh well. I’ll enjoy the cultural highlights of Cardiff but no Elvis. Presume Birmingham off as well but nil on eit...

Will be there, as MOOTM says, COVID-19 permitting. Not like a football match you can play behind closed doors, is it?

Re: Just Trust UK Tickets for Sale

I have a single ticket for Glasgow on Thurs 5th March that I need to sell. I bought it in a flash sale but have since realised I have daytime commitments and not enough time to get up to Glasgow. As it was in a sale is very cheap at £36.90 for a Row P stalls seat. Please PM me if interested. Thanks...

Picked up a Glasgow stalls ticket for £36.

Bit worried if they are discounting this much this early whether some of the shows will actually go ahead. The prices will have put many off, as we said before.

No you're not - I thought that Lou sounded like ONJ the first time I saw them live a few years ago. On record the similarity is even stronger.

Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year" (2020 UK tour)

The standing tickets for £52 at Hammersmith were sold out at the presale. I’d pay any price to see him, but doubling the ticket price over night is a bit much for some. As far as I could see it was all seated at Hammersmith?? I got confused too at one presale confusing Eventim Olympia (Liverpool) a...

Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year" (2020 UK tour)

So Hammersmith is sitting - very disappointing. Most gigs I've been to there recently having been standing in the stalls. Crikey these are pricy!!!! Only committed myself to standing in Liverpool so far. Think I'll rein in my expectations of number to go to. Are there any others with standing? I won...

Re: "Plotting our return, early in the Leap Year" (2020 UK tour)

Cocktail Murderess informed me that The Waterboys and Nick Lowe are supporting Elvis in Sheffield. . I saw that on one website - I think it's just a lazy cut and paste from a journalist, using the bio for the Blenheim Palace gig a couple of years ago. There's no way that is going out on the road as...

Re: Elvis's most 'Marmite' project

The album I just don't seem to get on with is Secret, Profane and Sugarcane. EC doing bluegrass sounds a great idea in theory but it just doesn't work for me. Clumsy title too - unusual for Elvis. I guess to be Marmite then someone needs to love it - not so sure about that! PS I love Marmite and gre...

I was at Anfield yesterday and they announced Elvis was Guest of Honour at half time and played PLU.

Shame they didn't get the squad to sign his shirt.

Also a shame we couldn't have put up a better performance (from a gooner).

So Elvis writes : I could see no reason why we should not inform purchasers that the Disc Nine and Ten of the box-set contained the same songs to be found on the “Purse” E.P., after all some people simply like 7 inches, while others prefer 12 but my objection was overruled. This is certainly not th...

I managed to get a copy at a reasonable price from Amazon in the end. No palaver Sheep! It's very good, I think. I particularly like Everyone's Playing House and If You Love Me. The latter is the Johnny Cash one - if he did both this and I'll Still Love You for the Forever Words compilation then I'm...

This something to look forward to - I've seen My Darling Clementine live 3 times - very enjoyable. Wow, this is great news! Let's hope they get Shoes Without Heels in there, Motel Matches, Stranger in the House, Heart-Shaped Bruise... what else? Depends if it's just Elvis-written songs or also inclu...

I'd go for:

Blondie doing Tear Off Your Own Head It's A Doll Revolution

These are going for close to £40 on ebay. Record Store Day just makes money for nefarious profiteers online - does nothing for the true music fan - and I suspect little for the record stores themselves. For goodness sake just release a single as a normal single!

Re: LOOK NOW on 8 7" 45's box set coming 2/22

My only copy of Look Now is the 12 track vinyl which I then recorded onto an audio only CD-R and it sounds great on both formats - I have always come back to vinyl as my primary source (except for a certain number of live recordings - gulp) and the reissues on mobile fidelity have been mind-bogglin...
