Re: Your favorite EC album and why.

At the end of the vinyl LP there's prolonged cheers and someone shouts a phrase I can't decipher followed by "Elvis is King" just before an MC says "Ladies and Gentlemen, that's all for tonight". It just makes the whole show seem more unique, just like Yee-haw man !

Bugger , krm is right too, El Mocambo. As always depends partly on mood. GH will always be my number one but on certain occasions different favourites occur. B&C is great if I'm in a foul mood, Terror And Magnificence is a favourite when I'm working alone at night !! along with North in the wee ...

From Big Boys, I always thought it was " I was down upon on knee, stroking a manatee"

- which fitted in with my aquarium fixation later in the song about being stuck on a hammer head (shark ) !

Re: What is 'The Beat' about ?

So if it is about wanking, what does the stuttering rhythm mean - it's not like slowly building to a climax (pun intended) , and the little instrumental bit ( especially noticeable on live performances between 1977-79) all have a sort of staggering movement. I don't want to proclaim or indeed infer ...

Re: Mobile Fidelity to re-release Get Happy

I've got the promo double "EP" set of get happy on vinyl which I think has 5 songs a side ( makes my simple mathematical brain look rather good the way i divided 20 by 4 there !) but I've only played it once since I shelled out a kings ransom for them back in the late 80s at a record fair....

Took Mrs.Sulky for a belated birthday present to De Montfort Hall, Leicester last night for her second gig of the year watching UB40. Confirmed my opinion of them in 1984 (or1983) when I saw them at The Cornwall Coliseum, St. Austell - dreadful. An audience who screamed when the title of a song was ...

I couldn't wait until November when I could play Christmas In The Heart - I so love that album though probably for all the wrong reasons and I had been brought up to believe only King's College, Cambridge were the only performers fit to record Christmas music !
