I've already said -it took me nearly 6 years to transfer all my live cassettes to digital and now BA wants the videos done as well ! I suppose you think just because we've got no live shows to see this year, I've got plenty of time on my hands

Does anyone have a good copy this? My audio copy is a bit dodgy but I do enjoy it. It does include God Give Me Strength tagged on at the end but I am not sure where this will have come from as it isn't on the video. It was on the "Because It's A Lonely World" documentary but had talking over it so I am not sure where it is from. Why would this have been left off the video?
A part of The Sweetest Punch also appears on that documentary which didn't make it to the video. Was anything else left off?

It really is astonishing that this has never been released on DVD. Maybe there is a chance with the two collaborating again?

My assumption always is that these things have to do with rights issues, and that ultimately they don't sell enough to be bothered with releasing them in a physical format.

Hopefully, they will maybe eventually find their way to maybe iTunes (audio) or Netflix (video streaming) or some way where people can see and hear them if they aren't going to be released again on a physical format.

I know that I had always hoped that someone would issue the "Making Of Almost Blue" documentary on a deluxe AB reissue, but it was clearly never gonna happen so I went and uploaded it to YouTube, where it's since been watched by a lot of people. (Would've been great to hear a Costello commentary track on that one...)

Maybe when the Painted From Memory stage musical happens it will lead to some EC/BB stuff getting re-released?

The PBS broadcast of "Sessions at West 54th" included both "God Give Me Strength" and an interview segment with David Byrne (host of the TV show) not on the VHS release.

The only explanation I can think of for omitting "God Give Me Strength" from the video release is that the song was a bit overexposed at that point, having already appeared on the Grace of My Heart soundtrack, Live on Letterman, Burt Bacharach: One Amazing Night (CD and video), The Look of Love: The Burt Bacharach Collection, and Painted From Memory between 1996 and 1998.

Have to say I taped this on venerable old VHS when it aired here years ago. EC's performance of GGMS is the best ever committed to video I think. Though some of the music on Spectactle works brilliantly, a lot of the time when cameras are rolling he's somehow just somehow not displaying what he has in the concert hall every night - to me anyway.

I bought the VHS on Amazon this week and ripped the audio, including the final unlisted track (Make It Easy On Yourself) that plays during the closing credits.

Here's the mp3:

I also have a lossless version which I'll put on a torrent site, probably KickassTorrents https://kat.ph/

Many thanks, docinwestchester. I will have to have a listen when I am home. The video is quite expensive to get over here from what I have seen. Is there is a second version of one of the songs after the end credits?

There is a faux grainy/sepia tone video of the song Painted From Memory after the end credits. It looks and sounds the same as the version in the main set. I'm not completely sure however. Here are both versions if you want to compare:

main set: http://www.mediafire.com/download/o9yc9 ... Memory.mp3
after credits: http://www.mediafire.com/download/feyi7 ... redits.mp3

Anybody hear a difference?

yep. Very early on. In the first one, Elvis pauses distinctly between "those" and "eyes". In the sepia version, he doesn't.

Could you seed it for me? I'm stuck at 28.4%. I'm trying to download "Painted From Memory - Compilation 2013" (flac and mp3) too, but it's stuck at 1.2% and 0.0%. I'm desperate.
