Patriots Day

The little guy and I went to see this at the crack of dawn today (I got up at 4:15) though our view was not this good!!

This is Lexington Green; we then went and had pancakes (a luxury neither the British Regulars nor the Minutemen had, I suspect) and then drove to Concord to watch the other famous skirmish at the North Bridge. It was tiring but very fun.

I think they called them "Johnny cakes" back then - picked up this little piece of useless trivia at a Vermont B&B many years ago.

Any relation to Patty Cake? For what it's worth we also saw a version of this:, though again, no way could you see this well. I couldn't take pix cause I had a 45-pound boy on my shoulders!
