I just bought this

Peeked into the window of an antique shop and just had to have this. It's a mongolian fighting horse from the Tang dynasty. It's not an antique - I don't know how old it is but the lady at the shop said it was considered "new" - but that's besides the point, I love it. It's carved from some kind of igneous stone and weighs a tonne.

Btw, this can be a general thread.

I like the idea for a thread of "I just bought this," Boo. Interesting new idea. And I like your purchase. :-)

It's the most beautiful horse ever seen by anyone.

Thanks, Spooky.

Well, it's not a horse or a car. But I wanted this

and this

but they wanted a ridiculous amount for shipping, so I complained...

so they sent me this (n.b. this does not make me a baseball fan)

and this as well

along with some other really cool stuff.

Cool, Moody.

I won't bother posting a pic of the very exciting wheelbarrow I just bought to do yardwork with yesterday. :)

Me and my sweetheart went on a smash and grab at Milton Keynes IKEA. In the 90s we were constantly going to their stores, kitting out our first house and then our second in those years, getting lots of decent stuff at impressive prices. Hadn't been for several years, and didn't really miss it, but we found ourselves needing lots of stuff they have at good prices, and we made the wise move of going on a weekday with no kids. It was so civilised compared to the onslaught of a weekend visit, and no kids in tow seemed so easy, as we always had at least one fractious toddler in tow in the past. So we got a bit carried away, spent more than planned, with most expensive items being a nice 240 x 170 wool rug on a reduced price:

Looks great in the front room, but now said sweetheart reckons it would be better in the back room... She usually gets her way...

My new Red Bulls supporter's scarf. Much better than the cheap one they gave out at GS last season...

Either that or those liner notes are pretty boring.
