RIP Rod Roddy

The Price Is Right was always a bit of a silly game show, but growing up it was one of my favourites, and I was particularly struck by this animated announcer fellow who would shout "Come on down!" and wear suit jackets covered in sequins.

Rod Roddy, 66, passed away on Monday of breast and colon cancer. He voice will be sorely absent from The Price Is Right.

He was also the announcer on Press Your Luck, which I still watch whenever I get the chance, since I'm a big dork.

I found my daughter watching the game show channel just yesterday. She's a hound for trivia.

Gosh, I didn't even know he was sick. He was a colorful guy.
