The reissue comes out in like a month or two (hopefully)... couldn't you wait?Poppet wrote: i picked up Goodbye Cruel World this weekend.
Elvis is right. It's pretty sucky. Lovely songs buried under tons and tons and tons of crap.
This morning you've got time for a hot, home-cooked breakfast! Delicious and piping hot in only 3 microwave minutes.
blue, i could NOT wait! i'd NEVER heard it. it was only $9, and the guy at the counter liked my choice. i like to impress the record store help, i do it so rarely.
and, i can sell it and recoup a couple bucks. it's all good.
well, except for the cd itself. (bwa haha ha ha ha!)

Ahhhhh, "Black Magic Woman," "The Green Manalishi" etc. That was a worthy band!senior_service wrote:Fleetwood Mac - Greatest Hits ......this is the Peter Green incarnation of Fleetwood Mac, not the crap version
s_s, is your African Herbsman the edition with all the bonus tracks, the "versions" by the Upsetters and Big Youth? I have a vinyl copy of the original album, and I've sometimes wondered if the CD was worth getting for the "bonus tracks" and improved sound. Is it actually improved?

It is the edition with the bonus tracks, etc. I've only listened to it once. The versions are good, but I'm not sure they warrant the purchase if you're happy with your vinyl version. I too have it on vinyl, but I haven't listened to it in many years. Not sure how "improved" the sound is.
The Fleetwood Mac album is great. Hadn't heard much of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, but it has been recommended to me so many times that I thought I should give it a try. Well worth it!

You have to start typing after all the brackets and leave them (the brackets:crash8_durham wrote:By the way this quote button does not work like in other forums. I don't get it.
) untouched. You can edit the text between them, but what's inside each of the bracket sets ("[]") has to be left alone.Poppet wrote:

I don't care what anybody around here says about Eric Clapton. He's a fine musician, especially when it comes to playing the blues. Sure, he's released a lot of cheese over the years, but he's also released some quality material. Particularly when he was known as "God."
For that reason, I picked up his new album Me and Mr. Johnson, which is entirely made up of Robert Johnson covers.

Picked up
Alicia Keys- The Diary of Alicia Keys Can't believe how good this is! I'm not much of a hip-hop listener, but you don't have to be to appreciate this cd. The piano playing is amazing. It just brings in a whole new element to the music.
Air- Talkie Walkie Still trying to figure out what all the hype is about. I will give it a few more listens though because some music takes a few plays to really sink in.

recently freed from the shrinkwrap--and could they PLEASE find a new way to wrap these things up????
GP, Your Country. wonderful.
Rockpile, Seconds of Pleasure--I had forgotten how much fun this record is. early onset Alzheimer's.
The Band, Music from Big Pink. I think I've heard most of this at one time or another, but never all together. Time warp.
The Pogues, If I Should Fall....--my first Pogues record. I played it nonstop in the car for 3 days. The cover confused me.
