More Uk Dates???

Post by so lacklustre »

John E's site has this:
Gigography: New Appearances
NEW: 2005-05-24: Leeds, Leeds University - with the Imposters
A one off?

Or more dates to come? Maybe a university tour!

That's interesting. I wonder if there'll be a second leg to the UK tour then. It would seem odd to do a solitary date.

This could be a very expensive Elvis year. I'm seeing him three times NEXT WEEK!

Since EC&I return to Europe after their tour in the USA, would there be a chance that they will play the big outdoor festivals?

I'm thinking at Pinkpop in Holland, Glastonbury in the UK, Roskilde in Denmark, Werchter (Classic?) in Belgium, Montreux in Switserland,...
Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

The kind people at UEA Norwich e-mailed me to say EC+I are playing UEA 25th May. Doesn't seem to be publicised much yet. Already bought my tickets. See: https://secure.ueaticketbookings.co.uk/default.aspx

Well it's East Anglia at least! Never been to a gig in Norwich. Is the venue standing or seating (or both, in which case which will they do for this event?).

Standing - old fashioned entertainment in Norwich - but good fun! :)

Excellent. Even more reason to go. It won't sell out in a hurry, will it? When did he last play Norwich? A while, I 'd venture. Good on him.

Played same venue just over 10 years ago - 5th November 1994 - with the Attractions. Excellent - I was there. £25 will put a lot of Norfolk people off! Not likely to be a quick sellout.

Ok Elvis, I've booked a weeks holiday in Ireland for w/c 28 May so don't go do any south east gigs that week. However, Galway on the first 3 days of June would be good.

Thanks

Just what I need. Having forked out big bucks for Buxton, he's now playing on my doorstep as well!

It's interesting all these dates. Looking through the various box offices there only seems to be Sheffield and maybe Buxton sold out for this week's and next week's concerts, that's 2 out of nine. Still he adds further dates.
BBC Radio Merseyside were giving tickets away in a compitition for the Liverpool concert this morning.
Anyone going to Brighton tomorrow?

It's a clever way of getting people to see him twice on the same tour (or 6 times, if you're VG). Why isn't Norwich on the above list? Cancelled already?

I will be. But there'll be no report from me until possibly Friday or, more likely, Monday when I'll bore you with tales of Brighton, Hammersmith and Coventry.

Apparently he's got something a bit special lined up for Buxton as it's part of the Buxton Festival.

Guardian Hay festival turns to film

John Ezard
Thursday February 17, 2005
The Guardian

Hay-on-Wye: its festival will now feature film as well as books

The Guardian Hay Festival this summer is to offer film events as well as the usual banquets of literature, comedy, cabaret, politics, art, music and children's entertainment.
Jane Fonda, Goldie Hawn and the director Spike Lee were announced yesterday as being on the list for the cinema events.

They will lead a programme of masterclasses, documentaries, premieres and preview screenings.

The festival, which now draws 90,000 visitors, is celebrating the 19th year of its success in Hay, a town which has only 1,300 inhabitants but 39 bookshops.

The 10-day programme has further extended its colonisation of the grounds of Hay castle - which already boasts the biggest marquee in Wales - by booking Elvis Costello and Morrissey and introducing a state-of-the-art cinema, thanks to sponsorship by Film Four and Arts and Business.

A Pdf file on this link says Elvis is playing on June 1st.
