You know, the whole social framework of our life really hangs by a thread. I mean, what actually prevents any of us from showing up at work without pants?

Same thing would happen here - tidying up for the cleaner. Never quite understood that one.Who Shot Sam? wrote:The funny thing is that my wife goes around the house tidying up the evening before Debbie is scheduled to arrive, so by the time she gets here most of the work has been done.

I know! I mean, have you ever seen a sign in a shop or a bar reading "No Pants, No Service"? Me, neither.bobster wrote:You know, the whole social framework of our life really hangs by a thread. I mean, what actually prevents any of us from showing up at work without pants?

It would be nice if you could pull me into town
I've discovered something great with Sirius satellite radio.
The best way to start your day. Ramones on the way to work in the morning. The two things, at first, do not appear to go together. But I think that is what makes the experience so wonderful. I'm driving down Portage Road, just like every morning. Same sights and sounds...but now, I have something that most of the other pathetic people don't...the Ramones.
I wish all of you Ramones on the way to work, humor to get you through the day, love to make it all worth it, and Stardust memories forever.

I went on a date last week with the cheapest guy I have ever met. I finally told him I wasn't ready to start dating anyone new, but the real reason was that he was cheap. He kept "inviting" me to "spoil" him. The last straw came when he assumed I was going to take him to a play with vouchers I earned for volunteering. I guess it wasn't cheapness so much as an overdeveloped sense of entitlement.
NB: I always pay my way, this is not about wanting to be treated. This is about not wanting to be tricked into paying for a movie I see with a guy who doesn't tip the bartender on free drinks.

In my job it's compulsory. Now, who'd like a doughnut? And don't ask where they've been dunked!bobster wrote:You know, the whole social framework of our life really hangs by a thread. I mean, what actually prevents any of us from showing up at work without pants?

Reasons why I dislike lending my mobile phone:
- I may essentially be paying for somebody else's tardiness (or just plain selfishness).
- It can be a major invasion of privacy.
- I'm left to sort out data later, often mysterious.
- I may keep getting calls back later asking me to pass on messages.
- Hygiene issues - they could sweat and breathe all over it.
- Care issues - they could drop it or otherwise damage it.
Miss BA - Lucky you stopped volunteering when you did. Btw, can I borrow your mobile phone?

Perhaps, whoever this Milo guy is, but Trader Joe's Spiced Chai Tea is the nitshizz.El Vez wrote:Milo's sweet tea is the shizznit.
And, Ms. BA, I was speaking of metaphorical pants. And that guy isn't merely cheap, it's immoral not to tip for freebies!

It's especially embarrassing to be caught with your figurative fly down.
