Yes a great week for me after a very dodgy one.
I'm well pleased to be so close to the top having missed out on the first week's points!

Think I've found the trick to this Fantasy Footy thing - keep joining leagues until you can find a group of players more hopeless than yourself. I am 12th of 13 teams in the EC FF league, but just joined the Richard Hawley Board league today, where the same measly total puts me at the top of the table. :)

That's not significant. Our Aim Is True is where it's at (unless you work with me!).

Don't act until you've done your homework. I tend to make my transfers after 11, having checked all the relevant sources. If NTL let me down, I will sue. I was gonna go for the boy Ledley, but looks like he's dead-legged and may not play, so I splashed the cash and got Gallas. More or less a guaranteed bunch of points. Got rid of Cunningham at last.

Huh! Sodding Gallas only got a poxy two, whereas Smedley Bling did play and got six. VG deposes IP and goes top, for the time being, at least (Charlton v Fulham to go, I'm angling for a Bent hat-trick, and some further bonus points on Tues).

The Actim bonus points are still to be added but it looks like a very tight competition.
Fishwillfly - 445 points ; me - 444 ; verbal - 443
with Otis lurking 5 points behind.

Needless to say, I hope to regain the leadership after the bonus points. :D

My man is top of the league!! :D Since leaving home my son doesn't have much acess to the internet so he hasnt done anything with his team and is slowly slipping down the table. :(

Damn and blast - I had Lampard as my captain but swopped him over for Bent this week!! GGRRRRR!!

Nice to see I was top for the week. It's getting close at the top. Still only 8th at work, though. :(

Just made a rather bold move. I've nominated a player with a total of less than 20 points the new captain of my team.
I just have to take some risk to overtake Verbal Madrid.

Should have stuck with Henry! I was mnortified to hear in a taxi in Madrid the news that Arse had won 4-0 and Henry was on form. I sold the bugger at last and put in Harewood. Good news is Harewood got 9 points, only 1 off Henry. Bad news is Hyppia only got 1 and Gerrard, my cap'n, got 3.

My "bold move" (Riera from MC) brought me ZERO points. :x

My other purchase, on the other hand (Samaras), scored two goals !!

Nice gap closing after a very poor week for IP. Lucky you with Reo Coker. 6th is a poor show for a 3-season veteran like me. At this rate Gilly will overtake me! And how humiliating to have SLL above me. Tonight was shite with the two players I had out, Hyppia and Harewood coming on as subs in last half hour. This next week is mad. 3 fixtures for Midd! don't believe I've sen that one before.

Yeah, it was a terrible week for me. After Actim points it could be down to 3-4 points difference !!
My only hope is that all my players will play two games in the next Gameweek. Losing the top place at this point would be most disappointing.

I'm 5 out of 10 in the Richard Hawley board no-hopers league. Maybe that's more my speed?

No wonder the Sheffield clubs haven't been able to get back into the Premiership for years!

Still 6 points, IP. If only the Prem had such a dogfight for winner.

Shame. It was down to your boys and they bottled it against Sunderpants.

Bugger.
I get within striking distance then have 4 players injured in this weekend's round of matches, including Rooney, who I'd made Captain. I guess the Pole's been the most consistent all season, blah, blah, blah etc etc ad infinitum.
