Well now that I see you are in your drinking regiment training program am sorely tempted to come join you- fear I could not keep up though, that, and well a general shortage of a few spareThousand for air fare etc having just paid the youngster's fall tuition bill precludes me from confirming the date- will be there in shared spirits and that is something I trust you will 'knock back' in my absence.

Ah! the life of an English football fan-I could skip the culture- a good pub is most inviting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I am certain we could still have stimulating conversation particularly after a few pints!!!!! Your good wit alone will see to that.

Now that is definitely extra enticement- stimulating conversation with VG and a blue plaque tour with the inestimable Mr. Foyle!!!!!!!!!!! If that does not get me across the water, little will. Well that offer of a pint from VG all though these days I am more of a Mojito man.........

After flying in that morning I hope to be in central London by two o'clock. We need to get the Central line tube to North Acton.
What about a meet-up at , say, Oxford Circus and we take it from there? We could see the place, pose for silly photos and then find a pub, nearby or back in London , and then get down to the serious business of catching up on everyones news!

I now find myself unexpectedly available for this meet up, as my children will all be on France on that day. I may make my own way to North Acton, rather than fight my way into the centre of Town, only to come back out West again. If we are out that way, there are EC related sights around Westbourne Grove too, although that is a little way back into town.
Right now the plan for the 'Heritage Trail' outing is to meet-up at North Acton tube station at 2-2.30 on Saturday , see the sights and then then head back into the Garrick to meet the rest.
The Central Line doesn't seem to be affected by 'works' this weekend -

Shame I'm working tomorrow I bought a great Elvis's straw trilby as present to myself for my birthday in July. £10 down from £35 in the sale. Only had the nerve to wear it out once though.
Thanks Verbal! It was great, as always, to catch up with you , MOOT, Sulky 'n Paul. London was balmy and a joy to wander around and generally relax and enjoy the change of scenery. Back now in Dublin and my computer has broke down. This 'net cafe machine won't let me upload photos so I can only offer you this one that I posted to Facebook - via my 'phone - yesterday.
As always, the afternoon was a delight to welcome familiar faces and debate burning Costello topics of the moment - such as , will he veer play in England again and why did miniVG2's birthday parcel take 4 1/2 weeks to get to Kent !
I hope the CDs are tolerable to listen to, my very own 4 CD compendium of the Revolver tour so far - appreciated by all except VG who asked for all the tracks I hadn't included on the next CD and then wanted an Elvis sings The Beatles as the next project after that !! MOOT and John did the heritage trail, VG, Solack and myself entertained the adjacent tables with our wit, repartee and mad scrabbling to look at John's book and my DVD offerings and a splendid time was had by all. Roll on the Christmas meet !
