You'll never guess the two live performances Pete Thomas listens to "when
he's feeling a bit low and he wants to hear something good he's done from
the past. When I listen to them it makes me so happy".

Hint: it's not with Elvis.

You'll also hear his favorite Attractions tracks (they're not what you think
either) and why he probably has the most charmed life of any musician ever.

Listen to the whole, one hour interview this Sunday during the marathon. We
do need your pledges DESPERATELY.

Pete talking right now. He played on Lloyd George demosduring his time in the 1970s in LA with John Stewart . His ongoing impression of Elvis - 'slightly distant removed thing' - a good thing! He (Pete) chose Attractions name.

This is such a pleasure! John O. is doing a great job. All of you should be listening. The Pete Thomas interview is really good. And as a local I can say...these poor bastards really need your money. If anyone feels like pledging, it might keep them from being shut down for good.

So -- may I assume that this guy plays audience/unofficial recordings ?
Otherwise, he would have access to some pretty rare stuff...

From listserv-

So what was Pete's favorite listening music that he performed on? I missed that part of the interview.

John O mentioned that Pete played with Squeeze in the early 1990s. That incarnation of the band featured TIlbrook and Difford, with Pete on drums and Paul Carrack back on keyboards. Pete said he really enjoyed playing with those guys. He cited the songs "Melody Motel" and "The Truth" as among the favorite tracks he ever played on, and pointed out that they are available via iTunes as part of Squeeze's 4-track "Everything in the World" EP. Pete said something like "Whenever I feel down I play those songs and remember that I was part of something really great, really enjoyable." He wasn't slagging the work he's done with Elvis, he just really enjoyed playing those songs.

The segments should be available as 'listen again' within a few days ; that's what happened before. I heard only the first.

Thanks for posteing this! It's nice to hear that at least one member of the Attractions enjoyed being in the band.

Pete comes across as what he is a very nice bloke. Met him a couple of times. Always very friendly. Killed a boring hour at work well worth a listen

Does anyone have MP3s of these they could upload? I've got the Bruce Thomas one and am happy to post for anyone who wants to hear, but I'd love to hear the Pete and Allen Toussaint interviews especially. Did John Ottaviano ever interview Steve for the marathon?
