An almost exactly an hour mainly "hits" set in the rain. Crowd was very enthusiastic, lots of dancing and sing a long.
River in reverse
Watching the detectives....followed by "lovely weather we are having" comment
Accidents will happen
Man out of time
Bedlam
One bell ringing
Beyond Belief
Clubland
Alison
Everyday I write the book
Chelsea
Pump it up
Peace Love and Understanding...with Steve playing the medley to Singing in the rain
No encore but very well received by the crowd, distinct aroma of the local "delicacy" everywhere you went.

Thanks for coming through with the goods David!

Hey SupplyDavid,
Glad you made it to the show last night. I was so waterlogged, I left after Elvis (hope it was worth it for everyone who stayed to see Steely Dan ).
Quick question, I also wrote down the set list, but I could have sworn the opening number was "Wake Me Up" from Wise Up Ghost. Maybe it was all the rain, but I don't remember "The River in Reverse" refrain. Then again, I was just trying not to float away at that point .
Anyhow, I looked at my watch and the show truly was exactly one hour. I was hoping for a little more, as the 7pm start suggested to me that EC and The Imposters could go to at least 8:15 (maybe 8:30). Guess more people came for Steely Dan though. How long did SD play?

OK, sorry to doubt you, SD. I just went back to listen to "River in Reverse". It's been so long since I listed to that album, I just thought I was listening to "Wake Me Up".
Anyway, glad you got in last night. I'm new to this forum and had difficulty registering for the past day or so. I had an extra ticket as my wife is not a big EC fan--well, not enough to sit in the rain. I was going to offer it to you, but looks like you did fine without me (and I was not approved to post until after the show:/). I was in row 20, so pretty good seats.

Steely Dan, Elvis Costello at Red Rocks
At this point in the Red Rocks season Coloradans are used to rain. And clouds and showers aren’t going to stop them from seeing two Rock and Roll Hall of Fame acts kick off a summer tour at the famed amphitheater. British singer-songwriter Elvis Costello, backed by the Imposters, joined jazz-rock FM radio staple, Steely Dan, on Monday for the first show of a two-month summer run.
Elvis Costello and the Imposters played a crowd-friendly 45-minute set to open the evening. Led by longtime Costello keyboardist, the incomparable Steve Naïve, the Imposters, along with Costello on guitar, stretched out a bit instrumentally on several songs. Besides “Clubland” from 1981’s “Trust” and “Beyond Belief”, from the following year’s “Imperial Bedroom”, there were the obvious choices: “Alison”, “Pump It Up” and the closer, Nick Lowe’s “(What’s So Funny ‘Bout) Peace, Love and Understanding.”

Since you put me down, it seems i've been very gloomy. You may laugh but pretty girls look right through me.

45 mins? Did the reviewer arrive late or leave early?

Ha! Yes, Elvis' set was definitely one hour (on the dot!)
Re: Elvis & The Imposters play Morrison, CO July 6 2015
You know, the more I think about it, the more I'm a bit disappointed with this new EC tour. I understand he is "opening" for Steely Dan (actually, billed as "Special Guest"), but to just perform for one hour is a bit short, especially for someone with the loyal fanbase and one who has the back catalog of EC. With start times at 7PM--at least that was the time at Red Rocks--he could play for at least 1 hour, 15 minutes, if not an 1 1/2 hours, couldn't he? I guess Steely Dan fans need to get to bed early:).

Or worried they'll be upstaged by their support act.
