The question was asked by our own Neil.WindUpWorld wrote: The audience questions prompted some very good humoured replies and exchanges, not least the one about King Horse. I had no idea the song title came from XXXXXXX XXXXX (expletives deleted). The three song set that closed proceedings was veritably breathtaking.
It was a good evening and I have no doubt Indoor Fireworks was for the lady who requested he sings it on Detour.
I agree Elvis was steering it - he also took over when it came to the audience questions and was choosing who got to ask the questions.
The odd and even numbers questions was a really good concept. Nick hoped to return to this as various times during the evening and did so twice, including a story about Prince. It's a shame this wasn't returned to more often but once Elvis is off and running there's no stopping him!
It was also an odd ending. Elvis did some songs and then Nick sloped off. We didn't see him again. After playing the 3rd song, Elvis walked off. I thought Nick would come back out to say thanks and goodnight etc but it didn't happen.
There was a great forum turnout. At one time, as well as me, there was (in no particular order)
Goon Squad
Johnfoyle
Neil.
Sheeptotheslaughter
Mr Getgood
Andy the Roofdog
Little Fool
Spirit of Curiosity
Cocktail Murderess
and 3 other non-board members.
This was further expanded at the bar after the show.
Shame some of the others that were there didn't join us but maybe, as the song goes, next time round...
Highlight of the evening was Elvis buying me and Goon Squad. Unfortunately it was not Elvis directly, but one of his team. Me and Goon Squad offered to buy the team member a drink by way of thanks for his help in the past. We politely refused his offer of buying us a drink. Then he said "Put it this way, let Elvis buy you a drink". How can you say no to that?
Thanks, if you're reading this and see you next year!
