45:50 / Love Went Mad / Steve / piano, drums / Punch The Clock / Elvis Costello
Storming version of "Love Went Mad" at the end, and a very fine version of The Loved Ones, at the start, if you can hear it beneath the narrative.
Apparently, Ron Sexsmith did call Steve the previous day, but after the Ron Sexsmith special had finished...
Day 51 still incomplete, if anyone has time on their hands..

Re: Steve Nieve - The Daily Improvisation
I griped about Muriel at the start of these and got pooh-poohed by some people. And I get it. It seems churlish to complain about getting these wonderful shows, FREE, right in our living room, which Steve is doing as a gift. BUT why can't she rein it in a bit? Aside from holding the camera, she has nothing to do with the music we're hearing. She interrupts, and spoils, things on a regular basis.Harry Lime wrote:This captures it for me. I've watched every one, and I think you just need to get into the feeling of being in their living room and it being very casual. It's kind of sweet to see the affection Steve has for his wife and the warm relationship he has with AJUQ. It has given me a renewed appreciation for Steve's prodigious talents. His rearrangements of well-known songs (and not always Elvis') often brings a smile.krm wrote:"Really irritating" is a bit strong I think. The whole thing is what it is.verbal gymnastics wrote:..... does anyone else find Muriel’s interruptions really irritating?
So looking forward to the next 50.....

Awesome. Thanks again to Brodsky and of course the tireless MOOT.Man out of Time wrote:Day 47 now added to the wiki:

During future episodes, If anyone is listening live and cares to log the setlist here, that would be great. Crowd-sourcing it here with live contributions from multiple listeners during the broadcast could be way more efficient to maintaining the page.
I tried it once but had to enter approximate start times and go back later and work out the correct times.

Sorry but that's 'cos it is churlish.Arbogast wrote:

I'm certain that without Muriel's input into and support of the project there wouldn't be ANY of these wonderful shows. We are supremely privileged that they share these '21st century home movies' with us.
