[shrugs] It's just another daft list, isn't it? We could do that ourselves, on this forum, once a week, and every time, some of us would sit looking at it and think 'what are you talking about it, you idiot?'

The only opinion I would throw in, is that including Il Sogno in lists like this is silly, as it's a completely different kind of LP that can't realistically be 'ranked' against the others. Or, if you're determined to try and make this 'definitive' by including every LP he ever made, where's Jake's Progress or GBH? At least Elvis plays (a little bit) on Jake's Progress, whereas - as far as I know - he doesn't play a note on Il Sogno?

Back in the middle ages, I kept a list of my favourite Beatles songs. the oldest one i've still got is me adding in Revolver songs. I'd type it out, top ten in red ink, then circle songs and move them around and re-type the list. Never really showed anyone, but I'd fold it up and carry it with me. It was, in retrospect, a sort of private intimacy and remembering and considering and reconsidering.

but in this case, yes, click. i love lists and always think that they are wrong and almost always look at them anyway.

I'm not going to argue with the top 5 as a group, but the rest is throwing darts.

I don’t know, I wouldn’t trust any ranking without King of America in the top 5.

these things are always dumb. what's better, plums or pears? they are both sweet and delicious, sometimes i want a plum, sometimes a pear.

To be fair, he writes that "Momofuku was released shortly before my wedding, and was in my iPod rotation on a lovely and memorable honeymoon." Maybe "Harry Worth" felt like a personal attack!

No - plums are much better. I hate pears.
Thus illustrating the point. You either have individual lists which will always have quirks like hating pears. Or an ensemble list which is going to be lowest common denominator. Neither going to result in any sort of satisfaction.
Can't you see I'm trying to change this water to wine

Strange meal choice, puppies and pears !!
I guess there are certain shoe-ins which will be top 5 or thereabouts but the choices. Near the bottom end are a bit bizarre more like kittens and kiwi !
