Friedel lets in three goals but saves a penalty and gets mega-points. What's wrong with this picture?

That's not on!

Damn, I'm doing rubbish already! If it wasn't for Terry, I'd be really struggling. At least I'm ahead of WSS! My selection wasn't at all bad, I just got unlucky. I kind of knew I should have gone for more MU and 3 from Chelski.

And as for MU, top of the league, we're having a laugh. Starting as we expect to continue...

Cracking start to the season. Loads of goals. Awesome Reading comeback.

Looks like I'm off to another flyer as well. But as my colleague always says "It's a marathon, not a sprint"

Is it just Newcastle, the Arse and Liverpool that aren't playing in Gameweek 2?

And Wigan, so 6 of my squad are out, 5 now I've transferred, including my goalie. And I still have Crouch in tonight's line-up! And three players in the team who didn't have appear at the weekend. So barring a hat-trick from John Terry, this is an even worse start than last year, which means the value of my team will drop fast and I'll spend all season trying to be worth £100m again. The misery!

Ah, someone has mentioned so lack's 80+ points. Did you also notice my rank? 963rd out of 788,963. So at the moment I'm better than 788,000 people! Got to get this in as it won't last. There is only one way to go now!!

The fixtures were announced long ago, and so the astute ff manager made sure he had enough players for week two.

I don't know. Was going to ask the same question. It's not POP's housemate - he's already on board. Anyone else have a clue?

You may have noticed that this time we can use the so-called transfer wild card, which allows us - but only once in a season - to make as many transfers as we want.
Some of us will surely save it for future Gameweeks, but I have just used mine.

The new "boy" is an old friend of mine, a huge huge fan of Southampton FC and Matt Le Tissier.
He likes Elvis, too, although probably prefers the earlier albums and doesn't keep track of every Elvis' recording.
He's also into stuff like The Beach Boys, Marvin Gaye or Van Morrisson.
And a very funny guy, too.
I hope you don't mind he's joined our league ?

No problem Pole. The more the better if you ask me. I've also decided to take advantage of the transfer wild card - don't want to fall too much further behind now.

You guys are cracking me up! One week in and you've used it. Cojones. I wads tempted, but couldn't face such an admission of abject failure.

Why not? It's a gameweek when a lot of big teams are not playing. I got stuck making minor adjustments last season, then regretted that I hadn't been more aggressive.

Also, with Riise injured and Ballack as well, I had two big pieces that needed to be replaced in midfield, so why not do it now?

You Americans are so impatient! Er, and you Poles!

I'm gonna hold out, if I can, till there are 4 teams with double or triple gameweeks, and some not playing at all the next week, build up to three players from each and then do the wild card to return to normality. Or something like that.

I'm not even going as far as you

I'm only 70 odd points off the leadership. Two down, 36 more to go

I was *just* going to post that it's damn impressive that you're currently ranked approx 2000 out of 800,000!

800,000 is not as impressive as it looks, MG. 10-15,000 new teams have been added since this morning. Looks a bit dodgy to me.

Nice. Clean sheet for Pompey, with James making a ton of saves. Good to see Boro get tonked after mugging us last week.

Can somebody lend me a fish fork?

Impressive so far Plaything but is that a credit to you or your housemate in the Big Plaything House?

My perseverance with Henry as Captain is not exactly reaping dividends.
