New Rock Classics -It's time to reassess the term

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Bamboozel..is a crawler somebody who may dress up in a gimp suit once in a while and the like?

By the way, it suprized me that Zevon was on the list. He was huge back then.........sometimes I think I have more in common with Zevon's music than EC's.....I've outgrown a lot of Elvis' music, his venom, his lurking in the emotional shadows and hoping for his revenge. Zevon is more of a guy who is flawed and fucks it up for himself because he just can't fly straight............I think that Elvis is kind of a victim, especially in relation to the songs he writes about women.
I'd never leave the house if I had a Gimp

The closest word in common US street parlance I can think of is an 'asskisser'.

I'd agree with three of these, I should probably get the other two (MBV and Pavement).

Here's a short list of records from the late 70's, early 80's that I don't think get mentioned often enough and are considered "classics" within my record collection -

(English) Beat - Special Beat Service
Linton Kwesi Johnson - Forces of Victory
Jim Carroll Band - Catholic Boy
B-52's - Wild Planet
Cramps - Psychedelic Jungle
Gun Club - Fire of Love
Buzzcocks - A Different Kind of Tension

Seeing as I have more than half of these and love them all, perhaps I'll get the others the next time I order a batch o' CDs.

Nice to see Linton mentioned. Great bloke, and F of V is the one for me.
