What is the best album ever by anyone?

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Good call BWAP -- Dylan at the height of his surreal creative powers, and at the height of his fame, in the 60's. And that "thin, wild, mercury sound". The most indispensable Dylan record for me.

And this would probably be my favourite live album (if I have to pick ONE; what compels one to come up with these confounding propositions!?)

Absolutely

I've thought about this for a long time. It's Frank Black's The Cult of Ray.

My answer has changed. It was Life's Rich Pageant, by REM.

Now it's Blue Train by John COltrane.

Next week, it's going to be One Nation Under a Groove, by Funkadelic.

Ah yes, Barry Wom.

"It would be another two years before they were to find their drummer Barington Womble hiding in the van. The other Rutles convinced him to change his name to save time and his haircut to save Bryll cream. He became simply Barry Wom."

Interview: What is your dream?

Barry: I'd like to be a hairdresser... or two. I'd like to be two hairdressers.

And lest we not forget Mr. Wom's album (an candidate for all time greatest album)....

"When You Find the Girl of Your Dreams in the Arms of Some Scotsmen from Hull"

---

Which brings me to a poignant musical moment. Several years ago I saw a "Rutles" show at the Troubadour -- it was actually Neil Innes backed up by a local tribute band, the Fab Four and "the Rutland Symphony Orchestra" (a four person string section and a three person horn section).

It was a great show, and half way through I realized this was as close as we're ever gonna get to Beatles Reunion...
