A few glimpses of EC at 0:50, then after 4:00 a bunch of times. First you see Southside admiring EC's new geetar, then at about 5:40 the two appear to have a good laugh together.

Two more connections:
After a 2009 performance of his 1980 song "Long Distance" Southside talked about how dated the song was and referenced EC and bakelite ("But when I hold you like I hold that bakelite in my hands") as another example of lyrics with outdated terminology. (MP3 on Mediafire - green button in the middle; mind the popups.)

According to etree.org, Southside allegedly covered "Watching The Detectives" on one occasion in 1999 - but it may have been only a snippet during the final song of the night (or perhaps it was played over the PA system after the show and captured on a recording).
