now is the time for all good ELO fans to unite--not so much Mr. Blue Sky, but Telephone Line tears me up! I've got a purple 45 of it somewhere in my laundry room.

No guilt, cosmos! It's a fun song!

It's one of those songs that always brings up a particular time and place for me. Wanna hear about it? It reminds me of making out with a certain boy in his car in the school parking lot after having been kicked out of home economics class for mocking the Kennedy family! That was a guilty pleasure!

Well, I don't have a memory like that.... I just remember it immensely lifting my spirits during some gruelling college day at some point. Very Beatle-y. My fave ELO tune is "Do Ya"....dig that one. I'm using the outro from "Mr. Blue Sky" as outro music on the radio show too!!

OK, I deferred to Norman when we both posted the Kinks at the same time, so now I'm going to be cheeky and replace his song with mine, cos it is their masterpiece and the best London song ever.

Out: Kinks
In: Kinks

Iggy Pop - Cry For Love
The Troggs - Wild Thing
George Thorogood & the Destroyers - Delaware Slide
Richard Thompson - 1952 Vincent Black Lightning
The Kinks - Waterloo Sunset
Joni Mitchell - River
Bob Dylan - Idiot Wind
The Easybeats - Friday On My Mind
Echo and the Bunnymen - Ocean Rain
ELO - Mr Blue Sky

Otis -

Waterloo Sunset was already in the tower, and then axed in favor of the Cars - causing me to writhe in agony and go on a mini rant.

BWAP, thanks for that. Didn't realise. thought I could resubmit it due to earlier cancellation.

El Vez said 1pm Eastern Mountain Time on May 29, so yes, c'est finit. So the final version, restoring Norman's Kinks selection for my erroneous one was:

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers - Breakdown
The Troggs - Wild Thing
George Thorogood & the Destroyers - Delaware Slide
Richard Thompson - 1952 Vincent Black Lightning
The Kinks - I'm not Like Everyone Else
Joni Mitchell - River
Bob Dylan - Idiot Wind
The Easybeats - Friday On My Mind
Echo and the Bunnymen - Ocean Rain
ELO - Mr Blue Sky

None of my choices survived

Can't wait till the next one...
