Maybe too many people were asking him for freebies but he never even got asked out by any of them. Take, take, take!Goody2Shoes wrote:No, no, no! I didn't get him fired! I was assured that he left of his own accord to move onto better things. Like making donuts, maybe.

I'm home right now, doing the following:
1. watching 5 additional inches of snow fall
2. feeling fluish due to shingles, which I found out I have (who me, stress?)
3. watching my ceiling for leaks, as the roof of our building has been leaking and the folks on the floor above me are getting some damage
4. trying to stay awake, as I was out shivering on the sidewalk at 3:30 a.m. cause the sprinkler system flooded (see #3) and set off the fire alarm, and so the lot of us (maybe 30 people) had to stand outside in single digits temps until the nice firefighters told us we could go back in....
Other than that, I'm doin' great!

I think you should, Ms. Mug! but I guess standing out in single digits is as good a way as any to get to know your neighbors.I think I'd like to spend an evening at your house, Moody...
Goody, I'm thinking your Coffee Man left to write his magnum opus - Songs About Goody: Be My Skinny Latte.

Oh and a question to all.....how many of you frequent coffee shops. I am entering that business and am curious

I'd like to do a test like that.pophead2k wrote:Antonyms, word relationships, sentence completion and reading comprehension (wherein they supply you with some technical reading on science or art or something and then ascertain if you can understand the implications, tone, and direction of the work, if not the meaning). The only way to do really well on this part is to be a big-time reader, which luckily, I am. The word relationships give me the biggest headache.bambooneedle wrote:Pophead, what sort of things were on that verbal?

this one time, in band camp...
I took a test in high school to get out of class. no shit. some kind of army thing, lots and lots of pictures of flattened boxes and you were supposed to figure out what shape they'd make if they weren't flat.
I just took it to get out of class. The army pestered me for a solid year to join up. So Mood 's Rule of Successful (I guess!) Test-Taking: Do Not Give a Shit.

You are NOT alone! I love small cute blondies who appear to be a bit clean and cheerful but are super dirty deep inside when lured to the dark side
and coffee shops ...all the time!

I've just spent the last 10 minutes PM'ing someone on the Board and then catching up with this thread since when I logged off yesterday.
I am:
1. feeling sorry for poor Muggy. As someone once said "Life's a bitch
and then you die".
Muggy - I hope you're OK and the shingles don't affect you travelling
on a plane in a couple of weeks time.
2. jealous of Blue and Bamboo's lives. Nothing that exciting happens to
me!
3. laughing at MDM's "this one time, in band camp" American Pie
reference.
4. not being surprised at Cope. Which is a surprise in itself

Vger, you know exactly what I need to hear!
I'm eating oatmeal again! I was 45 minutes late for work because my dog disappeared right before it was time to leave. took the kids to school and came back to find her all pleased with herself on the front porch.
Dog For Sale. Housebroken, spayed, a warm companion on a cold winter's night.

Thanks, Verbal G. Nothing can stop me from coming to your lovely island. Mwaaa-haaaaaaahhhhhaaaaaa!
The shingles are not too bad so far. I caught it early-ish and am taking anti-viral drugs. I feel fluish (cause I basically have chicken pox) and the virus lives in the nerves, so it's painful. But not horribly, as it can be for some people. My son is vaccinated against chicken pox so no worries there.
Right now I'm working from home as Boston Public Schools are closesd AGAIN-- for the remainder of the week. For those keeping track, that means the kids have been in school one day out of five this week! Helloooooo, snooooow.
