What a shame. That would have made my day.

Gilli: Wayne is a stallion. Seven times in one night and a hat-trick the next day? No problem.

Yep Gilli...you were right. 8) :D :D

Impressive passing performance.

Little Michael Brown has to be one of the most underrated players around. Heard someone calling him a 'headless chicken' at the lane last weekend. Idiot.

Newcastle will be very tough and we'll have to be at our very best. If we make the semis, I'll be cashing in my pension and going on ebay for a ticket!

One other thing...having watched the Sheffield/Arse match and the Spurs match tonight, the atmosphere at both matches was excellent. The fans really looked to be enjoying themselves - kids and all. Who said the magic of the cup was dead?

WHOO HOOO......'And the Spurs go maching on! on! on!!' We totally dominated them!! Pretty impressive performance, and if we keep that up I can see us winning the cup!! Mido delivered again - top quality player!!

My partner cooked an ace dinner too - pretty good night all round!! :D

Shame they couldn't keep it up at the weekend (so to speak!). And as for MU not scoring, blurgh! That's it, that 8 point gap won't shrink.

Would have made your birthday complete if we had dropped points to Norwich - and I thought that might happen when they equalized.

I've just about given up on my fantasy league team. Now I just pop in every few weeks to make changes. You really need to be more active than I've managed to be if you're going to do well. I haven't been able to get a steady striker pairing working all season. Back to drawing board.

What a stunning game ! How could Barcelona defence leave John Terry unmarked in the penalty area, however, is beyond me.
My 6-year-old kid, who's a big fan of Ronaldinho, went to bed in tears. :(

Nightmare of a day at work, so I had to follow the match on livescore.com. Luckily, Tivo did its job and recorded ESPN2's broadcast. Best Chelsea match I can remember in a long long time. Joe Cole's best game as a Blue, Lampard and Terry superb, even Kezman playing well. Some stunning saves from Cech. Credit to Goofy, that was a superb piece of skill for Barca's second goal.

I will catch the ManU highlights later on Fox. Don't understand why Ferguson decided to thrust Van Nistelrooy back into the fray.

Well done chelsea - they were unstoppable! My ears are still ringing from my sons yelling! He was disgusted that he couldnt get tickets for the match despite going to every home game and going to watch it on beamback every away game!

Bad sports Barcelona - you got your come uppance bigtime!!

Don't worry, they'll be stopped by Olympique Lyon in quarterfinals.

The Barcelona defence were truly dreadful, for that they deserve to go out. They were clearly the more skilful and attractive team to watch but that don't always win games.

Another notch in Alex's European bedpost eh? Does getting to the last sixteen for the second year in a row enhance his reputation for doing well in Europe?

I predict Arsenal & Liverpool exit tonight.

Well you were right about one of them! Liverpool are so unpredictable, but tonight was amazing. Fair dues, two English teams.

Caught the second half of the Bolton-Arse FA Cup match this morning. Can't say I'm surprised that Diouf was sent off but, as Arsene says, I did not see the incident. Bolton really flying into tackles - there could have been a few more players sent off. Ljungberg's miss at the end was really something to behold. I think my grandmother would have put that one in the back of the net.

Another Arse-ManU matchup on the horizon, from the looks of it. That should be tasty.

And a little bit of fun at Delia's expense (Delia does "The Liquidator"):

Diouf was probably a bit unlucky to get sent off but he can hardly complain, he put his hand in Lehmanns face. Diouf's trouble is that he is stupid. Kevin Davies on the the other hand is a dirty cheating snidy cynical git, but very clever with it and so he gets away with it most of the time. Thought the greek bloke (who can't make up his mind what he wants to be called) was a bit lucky to stay on the pitch after the foul on Lauren. Fred's miss was terrible, a good job it didn't matter.

Now onto Southampton against Manure. Ummmmmmm, who shall I root for........

4-0! Splendid. Easy. Here's hoping we got Blackburn or Newcastle (home victories assumed, sorry Jackson and Gilli, though I would be perfectly happy to see your boys doing it) in the semis, and then get the same scoreline as today against Arse in Cardiff. Would love to see Wenger's face after that as he realises not only are his team a place behind us in the Premiership, but they are silverless. All I can hope for now of the season.

Pretty desperate stuff Otis. What have you got against Wenger?

I'm just happy to see Tottenham knocked out and them have another meaningless season.

Just thought that i'd beat SLL to the punch. We lost, but I can't fault the effort. Usually we get hammered in games like this....and deserve it. On this occasion, we were the better side by some way. No consolation and once again the cup is off to Old Trafford or the Library...yawn...English footie is now as boring as the rest of Europe.

Regardless of the score, referees are really shit these days. Rob Styles booked 8 players today......really.... I said 8!!! How can that be justified with such an innocuous match ? They would book their grannies for shitting themselves.[/u]
