Morning Spew

Post by A rope leash »

Happy Sunday everybody!

Those goddamn kids pissed me off by waking up early and making the normal noises. After repeated warnings from their mother regarding the prudence of making so much clatter that her boyfriend is awakened, her boyfriend was soon treated to the wonderful drone of a wooden chair being dragged across the kitchen linoeum.

A rope leash broke off and chewed their arrogant little asses, then slammed the bedroom door, and dropped the F-bomb. Disrespectful, selfish, irritating little shits!

I'm going to buy them groceries later. Then I'm going to Springfield.

Anyway, I think I'll take it out on GWB. I've been wanting to post a photo essay, but Dell is having problems with images for some Windows-based reason. So, instead, here's some links from respectable sources that I would like to pass on to you for your reading enjoyment. Savor the rage...

They should have let a sleeping dog lie. Children can be exasperating and cause anyone to lash/leash out at them. But you overreacted, and it was wounding and wrong for you to curse at them.

A right wrong

Post by A rope leash »

Gee, I hope lashing out at GWB is okay.

Mr. M - should I have just let it go? Explaining things to them in a calm voice seems to have no effect. I needed to make an impression.

When I was young, I was very quiet when my father was sleeping. Why? Because he beat the holy crap out of me, that's why!

Ah, memories!

Late replying I know but...

Firstly, what time was it that you were awakened? If it was any time after 6am, then it should be perfectly acceptable. The way I see it, the right to sleep in on a Saturday or Sunday is forgone once you elect to have kids of your own, or you take on a relationship that involves kids.

Kids being what they are, tend to wake up early and like to have fun. Depending on their age they are not necessarily capable of puting "social responsibility" ahead of that fun (it has nothing to do with being disrespectful or inconsiderate). Unless they are actually causing damage to property or to each other, then they should not be punished for merely enjoying themselves... regardless of what your own experiences as a child might have been.

Of course, these are just my opinions based on my own experience of having two boys aged 4 1/2 and 1 1/2. Working all week means that weekends are a good time to enjoy their company, and if they wake me early then I see that as an opportunity to spend a little extra time playing with them.

Oh, and on the subject of your illustrious leader "dubya".. the prick has refused to give a joint press conference during his Australian visit, instead opting only to field questions from the four accompanying White House press corps journos.

"The US Secret Service rejected an application from the Canberra press gallery for equal access, on the basis that the journalists did not have the required US security clearances. The Secret Service then declined to allow the journalists to apply for those clearances; no reason was given."

It is suspected that he does not want to have to field questions relating to the two Australian citizens being detained at Guantanamo Bay.

What an asshole.
