Happy Birthday Wolfgang

This is for all non-EC or peripheral-EC topics. We all know how much we love talking about 'The Man' but sometimes we have other interests.

Happy Birthday Wolfgang

Post by ice nine »

Actually, his birthday was on the 27th, but better late than never. Had he of lived, he would be 250 years old. Hard to believe he only lived thiry-five years. Earlier today I saw the Pgh. Symphony do a concert celebrating this event, (See gig thread)

I liked his early stuff. Borderline? Then he went into that Eine Kleine Nachmusik phase, and I tuned out.

I preferred his early funny stuff.
echos myron like a siren
with endurance like the liberty bell
and he tells you of the dreamers
but he's cracked up like the road
and he'd like to lift us up, but we're a very heavy load

The clarinet concerto is my fave. Cosi fan tutte not far behind.
