Re: More TUBE goodies
Haven't heard Jukebox yet, but I like those originals. Wasn't aware of country supergroup Highwaymen, so it was quite amusing seeing them all pop up in the video! Cat Power is on the new series of Later this Fri, along with Radiohead and Feist. Should be fantastic. Here's a clip of her playing Aretha... at last year's Brazil Tim festival (where Elv played in '05). Unfortunately you can't hear much of her voice on this audience recording:

Great tune! Have you seen The Future is Unwritten, that documentary Julien Temple did about Strummer? I liked it - was shown on IFC over the holiday period.

Haven't seen that one, Sam. I watched Let's Rock Again and that's where it started. And how it got into my netflix queue I'll never know.

Yeah I liked that too. Especially the bit where he is walking around the boardwalk in Atlantic City and no one has a clue who he is.mood swung wrote:Haven't seen that one, Sam. I watched Let's Rock Again and that's where it started. And how it got into my netflix queue I'll never know.

Same as the old Jack! It's just too nice and pleasant, isn't it? Blandness incarnate. I loved Good People cos it's groovy with a nice riff, and, yeah, where have those good people gone? What else is worth listening to of his? Is that his best song by a distance? Recos appreciated.

And his mum, not in a pub! I think I would have been tempted to collapse in laughter if I'd been present. His mum holds a tune far better - he looks like he's about to nod off there. From that doc c. 5 years ago with lots of interviews with the parents. Good doc, though rather depressing to see the state he was in.

I read an interview somewhere where he said he had not been sober since mid-80's.
Seems like he's indestructible, though.
Or he's got two livers.

Re: More TUBE goodies
First time i've tried to post something from You Tube. Hope it works. It's a link to Sara Silverman and Matt Damon singing "I'm Fuking Matt Damon". Hilarious.

It worked, but man, you gotta master the special youtube feature here.
I thought this was very funny. Don't watch if 'the c word' upsets you.

So turns out little Nikki is now on the Sam Feldman artist roster, along with EC, DK, Joni, Leonard... not bad company for a 13-year-old!scielle wrote:A 13-year-old who puts everyone else on that new Ella tribute CD to shame.

Saddo pornfreak who is is too addicted to realise the hideous nature of what he's doing in a public space, and with a worryingly violent father to boot. Pretty depressing stuff, no?

It's more this Carl Monday character that makes it for me. Covering the stories that matter most.Otis Westinghouse wrote:Saddo pornfreak who is is too addicted to realise the hideous nature of what he's doing in a public space, and with a worryingly violent father to boot. The spend figures on security were pretty alarming. At first I thought it was a spoof, but it seems not.

I wonder how that poor shlub feels, having his library masturbation procliivity out there for the world to witness. Local TV news - gotta love it.Otis Westinghouse wrote:The spend figures on security were pretty alarming. At first I thought it was a spoof, but it seems not.

Re: More TUBE goodies
library wanking . . . wow, thats pretty brave
you would think that a public library would have some basic ass type of smut-filter on their computers, but I guess not
