Is Letterman shown in the UK?
Who’s this kid with his mumbo jumbo?

I don't think so. It'll turn up quick enough, however, on youTube, torrent etc.

Shall we start taking bets (gentlemen's wagers only!) on what he'll play?

If he's with the Imposters/Sugarcanes/Impostercanes, maybe the title track. If he's solo, maybe 'You Hung The Moon'.

Perhaps 'I Lost You'? It being the single. I would think 'A Slow Drag With Josephine' would be the likely candidate for a solo spot.

Yeah but this is Elvis we're talking about :) He doesn't usually do his singles, and 'I Lost You' wasn't released in the US as a single, so he's really not under any "obligation" to perform it.

I'd love if he trotted the full studio band out for a door-blasting rendition of either 'National Ransom' or 'The Spell That You Cast'.

"and now a... distinctive singer-songwriter who we've been pleased have many times on this show, here with a track from his new album 'National Ransom' - ladies and gentlemen mister Elvis Costello.'

Cut to EC, Pete Thomas, Dennis Crouch, Marc Ribot, Jerry Douglas, Steve Nieve and Buddy Miller. A real banstorming rock'n'roll performance would get some vibe going for the album.

I assume this is happening about now, based on the time zone differences I worked out in my head. How was it? Interview as well as performance?

Robert Downey Jr on now. EC in about 1/2 hour. I'll put it on YouTube right after.

Did Letterman greet Jim Lauderdale as "Pete" at the end?
