It's not working for us in Dublin either, WHAR. This seems to happen every few months, and then without explanation it starts working again. Last time it didn't work on our home computer, but worked on machines in internet cafes down the road. All very mysterious.

It could be a DNS propogation issue - p'raps the site has changed address or host, and that change is slowly working it's way around t'internet.

That's what I was thinking, except I didn't post because the lingo wouldn't come to my fingers to describe it...it came out like the DNS thingie takes a day or two to reach everyone's wires.

I'm a geek fraud. :(

I know he mentioned on Listserv a while back that he was in a turmoil over what to do about the site - that he had a new job or something and didn't have enough time to deal with it anymore. I think he was actually looking for someone else to take it over - a momumental task for sure.

Is it true that the site once had a ban just against the Foyles?

Sometimes life's little amusements are one's salvation.

Whoops, I mean that for the "random thoughts" thread.

MANY EC sites on the web. "Bright blue Times" is the greatest one left if Elviscostello.info is gone.

ecinfo was/is an incredible site.

The EC info site has already changed management once, several years ago. A guy named Mark from Atlanta (?) used to run the site before Mr. Everingham took over and really made it an exhaustively complete site for gigs, releases, etc. Here's hoping it continues...

If anyone here still has access to it (martin?) could they tell us the IP address?

ie drop to DOS (or *nix shell, not sure about a MAC) and try:

ping elviscostello.info

the set of numbers returned should be (eg) 123.123.12.345

Here's hoping.

Yes, but notice that the What's New area now reads August 30; hadn't there been updates since then?

The site has What's New as 23rd September. At least the year hasn't gone back to 2000!

Glad to see it back.
