My top 5 are GH, Trust, IB, KOA and B&C. I voted for #3.

Depends on my mood. KoA, IB, GH, TYM all vying for #1 on my list.

In an absolute pinch, should I be required to give my entire EC collection away save for one record, I agree with Noiseradio. Using a different critieria (one that allows me to get my TYM 'fix' periodically to forestall the delerium tremons of withdrawal), then it is a toss-up between Imperial Bedroom and Get Happy. So picked 'breakthrough'.

The two I love most are King Of America and Blood & Chocolate.
Just behind : This Year's Model, Get Happy, Imperial Bedroom and All This Useless Beauty.

In this order:

1. Get Happy
2. Imperial Bedroom
3. My Aim Is True
4. Blood & Chocolate
5. Armed Forces

...and just because I like ranking things so much, here's the rest:
6. Trust
7. This Year's Model
8. Painted From Memory
9. The Delivery Man
10. When I Was Cruel
11. Punch The Clock
12. Goodbye Cruel World
13. Spike

I don't have the others (yet).

So far, I've cast the sole vote for TDM, which is my current fave, right up there with King of America, my loooooongtime fave. This speaks, I guess, to the vague "American influence" of both. Don't know if it will stay in the top spot but I honestly feel it will always be in the top 2-3, depending, of course, on all those future albums. . .the great unknown.

they're virtually all great (ok, well, mostly...), depending on mood, but I'd have to pick Get Happy, then This Year's Model, etc, etc, etc....again, depends on the mood - my formerly-EC-hating wife is rather enjoying The DeliveryMan in her car disc player these days ;)

Yes, even if it is a song by Carol King (which I shall always associate with Heinz ketchup).

my tops pretty much concur with wardo68, with the exception of the delivery man, which i have to put in my top 5. with the koa reissue coming and sure to be a staple in my cd player for the next six months or so (isn't that the way with elvis cd's! one sticks in my cd player forever and then is totally replaced by another and so on), though, i may have to squeeze out one of the others. :D

1. get happy
2. trust
3. imperial bedroom
4. the delivery man
5. blood and chocolate

you're so lacklustre...
is that all the strength
you can muster?

1. King of America
2. Imperial Bedroom
3. This year's model
4. Blood and chocolate
5. Get happy!
After that it depends on mood.
Nothing there since 1986. Sorry TDM doesn't come close, though Brutal Youth and When I was Cruel are certainly in the top ten.

But since we are going there:

The Delivery Man
King of America
All This Useless Beauty (a dark horse, I admit. . .but what a great collection of songs!!)
Blood and Chocolate
Imperial Bedroom

Don't worry, Spooky. . .just temporary insanity on my part! I'm sure the KOA reissue will be the friendly reminder that puts TDM in it's rightfull place. . .#2!!!

I can't pick just one but my top four are, The Delivery man, Cruel Smile, Imperial Bedroom and Blood and Chocolate.

I wonder what that says about me....(like on those magazine surveys)... based on your choices we can tell that you are cynical, pessimistic, bitter and downright dark, if things don't change, you'll probably end up in a corner sucking your thumb like a small child.

Now if you had choosen, Trust, My Aim is True and, Get Happy ....... :D
